			Mission: Coordinate focused, long-term, theoretical, and applied research in biological and chemical countermeasures and surveillance. Protect the Defense Community and citizenry from the threat posed by biological and chemical agents. Disencumber the United States Army from operational and combat capability constraints posed by biological and chemical threats.
